A visit to The Farm at Walnut Creek promises to be and enjoyable and educational experience for people of all ages.  Here are some trip planning tips that will help you to plan your next visit.

General Admission includes the drive thru, petting zoo, playgrounds, picnic areas and farmhouse tours. Feed buckets can be purchased for an additional $3.00 for 64oz.

How Long Will Our Visit Last?

To visit the many attractions within The Farm at Walnut Creek, we recommend you plan for at least 2 hours.  There are many unique things to see and do during your visit and you may find that 3 to 4 hours allows for a more leisurely pace.

Please keep in mind that the drive thru animal park and the wagon rides take approximately 45 minutes. Your visit will take no less than 1 hour if there are no lines.

Drive Thru Animal Park

Drive Thru Animal Park
Driving through the animal park is a great way to see the hundreds of exotic and farm animals that call The Farm at Walnut Creek home. Follow the signs that guide you through the winding roads designed to get you close to the animals in their natural environment.

Feed  the Animals

Feeding the animals is a great way to enhance your drive through expierience. We recommend purchasing 1 bucket of feed for every 2 to 3 people in the vehicle. For the health and safety of the animals, only feed purchased at The Farm may be given to the animals.

Please follow all feeding instructions provided at the time of your visit.

Wagon Rides

Horse Drawn Wagon Rides at The Farm at Walnut Creek
Our horse drawn wagon rides are the best way to get up close with hundreds of exotic and farm animals. As you ride an open wagon through The Farm, our skilled wagon drivers will talk with you about the various animals. The wagon rides wind through the scenic hills and pastures allowing access to the animals in some areas where cars are not permitted. A team of draft horses will pull your wagon giving you an experience you won't forget.

Wagon rides include one bucket of feed for every two people and most of the animals are eager to visit the wagons as you make your way through the park.

Petting Area

Our walk-through area is home to many of our smaller animals and a large variety of birds. Don't forget to stop by and feed the goats and sheep. They are always looking to satisfy their hunger!

Blacksmith Shop

Be sure to visit the blacksmith shop located next to the horse barn. Our working blacksmith will be glad to answer all of your questions regarding this endangered art form.

Amish Farm Houses

Tour Amish Farm Houses
Take a stroll through our two authentic farm houses for an opportunity to see how families live in traditional Amish homes. The larger main house illustrates the simple nature of local homes and features fresh-baked cookies every day. The "doddy" house (dawdy house), or grandparents' house is a smaller home attached to the main house where "Mommy" (grandmother) and "Doddy" (grandfather) live .

Depending on the day and season of your visit, you can enjoy fresh baked goods that can be purchased while touring and view cooking, canning and quilting.

Amish Barns

There are several barns here at the Farm that our open to visit including the Doddy Barn, the Dairy Barn, the Sheep Barn, and the Horse Barn. Each barn serves a unique purpose to make your visit to the Farm possible while still illustrating how a multi-generational Amish farm is operated.

Located in the upper level of our barn where you can find a gift for people of all ages.

Playground

Playground at The Farm at Walnut Creek
Walk the planks of Noah's Ark and slide down the slides or enjoy a challenging volleyball game! The playground area here at The Farm is large and entertaining with activities for children of all ages.

Pavilion

Picnic at The Farm at Walnut Creek
There are many areas to enjoy a picnic lunch during your visit including a large picnic pavilion. The pavilion seats over 200 people and is available on a first-come, first-served basis daily.

The pavilion can also be reserved for family or company events.
